Solo esta forma de pensar ya nos coloca por detrás de esa golondrina.
Llegamos y nos creemos dioses, tomando bosques y mares, matando a nuestros acompañantes peludos, alados o escamados. Sin motivos, cogemos sus pieles y nos las colocamos pensando que nos darán más dignidad y más personalidad. No nos importa nada nuestra moral y nuestro honor animal, que para mí es sinónimo de humano. Y de nuevo tropezamos con un craso error que solo un humano (sin ser esta vez sinónimo de <<animal>>) podría cometer, y nos colocamos detrás de ellos.
¿Donde queda ahí la humanidad de la que presumimos? ¿Ser humano no es ser racional? ¿Qué tipo de seres racionales podemos decir que somos después de unos errores tan estúpidos?
He aquí una pequeña dosis de humildad animal:
Tú, gran humano de traje chaqueta que no ve más allá de sus narices y presume de su humildad mientras comete errores garrafales, pisotea lo que se le pone en medio y pisotea su alma animal: El día de tu muerte, tu dinero, tus pieles y tus terrenos privados no harán que más gente te eche de menos. Ni harán que vuelvas a tu juventud. Simplemente morirás. Tal y como yo lo haré y tal y como lo hacen el perro, el gato y el chimpancé…
Si algún día ves que el cielo se vuelve rojo, la tierra quema y los mares no se calman, no te salvará un paraguas, ni te salvarán unos zapatos ni podrás conseguir mudarte a Plutón con tus seres queridos para poder seguir con vuestras vidas. En ese momento, serás un dinosaurio más: temeroso, ignorante y frágil. Tal y como yo lo seré, tal y como ellos se sintieron en su extinción.
Tu y yo sentiremos lo mismo, pero te mostraré la diferencia:
Yo habré pasado mi vida con los pies descalzos sobre la tierra y la hierba mojadas, compartiendo con mis iguales y creciendo.
Y a ti te quedará abrir los ojos y darte cuenta. Y cuando sepas que tu tiempo es limitado, pedirás a tu vida un segundo más para poder recorrer las riquezas del mundo que no se compran con dinero, pero tal vez sea tarde.
Cuando el último momento llegue, no estarás solo, porque un animal nunca abandona a sus iguales. Y la tierra no sabrá reprocharte el daño que le hayas hecho.
