Las CAFs (Comunidades autofinanciadas) son pequeñas comunidades en las que los socios, generalmente entre 10 y 30 personas, aportan pequeñas cantidades de dinero que les permiten convertirse en propietarios de la CAF. Con el fondo creado se ofrecen pequeños créditos a los socios, de una media de 350 euros, que sirven para cubrir gastos como reparaciones, remesas al país de origen, libros para la escuela de los niños…
Esta realidad ha recibido varios premios entre los que Jean Claude Rodriguez, su fundador y emprendedor social de Ashoka, fue elegido el mejor emprendedor creativo del mundo, por su sistema de microcréditos CAF. Los premios Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA) se entregaron en el Congreso Mundial de la Junior Chamber International (JCI) en Antalia (Turquía).
En este mes de marzo NITTÚA, como plataforma para el cambio social, inicia la réplica de las CAFs en el País Valenciano. Hemos constituido una primera CAF en la provincia de Valencia y vamos camino de la segunda. NITTÚA reconoce en las CAFs una herramienta de empoderamiento colectivo, de cohesión social y cómo no, financiera. En los tiempos que corren, donde el individuo es el marco de tantas cosas, realidades como las CAFs nos hacen pensar en la recuperación del terreno propio de las relaciones sociales.
La usura existente se ceba en las personas más necesitadas pudiendo llegar a cobrarles un interés anual del 120%. Es un problema que las CAFs resuelven desde la cooperación entre sus socios para cubrir sus pequeñas, pero urgentes, necesidades financieras. El fundamento último de la herramienta financiera CAF es la confianza, la garantía de la persona como tal, el aval del grupo. Una sencilla e inteligente combinación de reglas permite dirigir las CAFs por sus propios miembros, ralentizando o acelerando la concesión de préstamos, controlando más o menos los riesgos, evitando la fuga del beneficio fuera del grupo, gestionando democráticamente una herramienta que queda dibujada en cada CAF como el grupo así lo ha decidido, a su medida.
